Title: WBA-13 upgrade not comunicating properly
Post by: stoosh on December 06, 2023, 04:47:22 PM
I just removed a non functional DVB200 and replaced it with a WBA-13 set up in a 10 times pay S+ I just got. This whole set up came out of a working S+ I had months ago other than the BV which I ordered from Spin.

I changed everything, the cash can holder the cash can the validator and the harness.

I can successfully test the WBA as per Jims test and it takes a bill and deposits it into the area where the cash can would be no problem.

When I turn on the machine it makes noises and cycles, but no lights on the bezel(I checked the bulbs there) and it wont accept bills. Everything else on the machine works good, quarters in/out plays and pays out. Settings were verified 9-1 8-1 with BV set chip. Still no love.

There are two plugs that are not being used from the BV one has a Blue/purple and grey wire the other has Black and white wires, no place left I can find to plug those in.

The old DVB200 also had a red/blue and a Green/ blue wire that looks like it went over to the door and into the lighted bezel. Do I need to manually tie these together somehow as the plugs are not the same.

Thanks for any ideas, I am pretty new to this, but willing to try anything...

the reason the door bezel won't light up , its not connected, the black connector with two wires on it from the 200 head are the control wires for the door bezel.  you can do one of two things to get it going,  cut the plugs off and splice wires directly, or get a new two connector , then cut the black connector off ,and connect those two wires to the new two connector which will plug into the plug with the black and white wires.  you do this in test #27, this turns on the control signal from the wba (plus 5 vdc) then hook up the wires and see if the lamps come on, if not reverse the wires and now it should be on, then splice them permanently, that should solve your door bezel problem,  did you set the denomination when you enabled the bill unit, did you check the limits in test#7??

hope this helps

I sell the two pin connector and connectors.

Thank you Jim for once again helping out. The denom was set to 0 and I hard wired the bezel lights as you suggested. Red went to the white and blue went to the black. Works like a champ.

Much appreciated
