Title: "Ram Corruption"
Post by: Fourbyracer on February 12, 2019, 06:20:02 PM
Hey guys, I just replaced a dead battery on my Atronic Emotion and now am getting "Ram Corruption" when I start it up.  I don't have a key chip for it--is that what I need or does that signal bigger problems?  It was working before the battery went dead.

Thanks for any info.

You need to clear the nvram after doing a battery change

Thanks idesign.  So do you suggest to post a want ad for a NVRAM clear chip or do you know where I can get one?  Or is that even the process?

Well, it depends on whether your game is progressive or not.  What game is in the machine?  Does your machine have a comm board along with the game board?  Game board requires only a single RAM clear chip for U9, whereas the comm board needs 2 Clear chips also.
If the game is progressive it will be much more involved to set the machine back up again.

Its a "Wild Fangs" non-progressive.  It has 2 slide out boards, one with game eproms, and the other with communication eproms, both with the 3.6v lithium batteries (which I just changed).  Here is a picture of what I am looking at.  Where does that leave me?

Ok, then you need the 3 chip set to clear the machine.  Then after clearing it you can set the game up again.  I think I have a set of clear chips if you need them I will look for them.  I know I have the pdf file with the instructions.
