Title: IGT G20 Battery Tilt
Post by: kayjay on March 29, 2021, 07:00:09 AM
I turn my slots off every night and have not had any problems, in the past three years, with batteries. Lately, my G20 has come up with a grayed out window that states Battery Tilt. Usually I restart the machine and everything loads up ok, but since it cashes me out every time it does this, it's kind of a pain. Can anyone tell me what type of battery I need and its location in the machine, so I can replace it? Also, is there anything special I need to do to get the machine running after replacing said battery  :Scratch-Head:
Thanks.

There are 6 batteries total on machine.

There is a 3 battery pack on the backplane daughterboard (I guess that's what it's called).  You will get a tell-tale error if it is that one. You can change that 3 pack out without loosing anything.

There is a 2032 battery on MPU board inside the brainbox.  I believe you can change that one out without loosing anything. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Hopefully that is the one giving the error.

There are two 2450 batteries on the pci card inside the brainbox.  You will have to re-enable all games after replacing those.

So for the G20 it's the green 3 stack coin battery that's the telltale?

Yes, the 3 pack on the backplane. They are not coin batteries but approximately AA cell size. The color of the wrap may vary.

Hello,

Did you ever figure out which battery was causing the "Battery Tilt"?  My AVP MLD has been doing the same thing,  although if I leave it powered up the tilt clears after about 6-7 hours.

Thanks

Steve

If it's doing that then you need to replace the battery on the backplane.
