Title: Can you plug a diagnostics key in a computer
Post by: yerigh on August 15, 2022, 06:56:51 PM
Hi everyone.
From reading the forums I understand that an ekey should never be plugged into a PC as it renders it useless.
What about the 04-21 diagnostics key.
I had purchased a hard drive with all kinds of stuff on it including games, boots, diagnostic and manuals from a user here on the forums.
He stated that I can create a diagnostics key from the file on the hard drive but it will not work.
When I plug the factory ekey and diagnostics key i creared into my G23 system I get a black screen that gives me a bad usb error. After removing the diagnostics key, I get to the AVP splash screen.

Win 7 or older. Win 8-11 will add a hidden system file that makes the machine not recognize it. Flash drive needs to be no larger than 32gb and formatted FAT32 only.

Then just copy the whole diagnostic file?
Now to find a computer old enough.

Plugging an E-Key will not render it useless.  An E-Key is a hardware dongle that cannot be written to.  Nothing will happen to it.
