Title: Newbie looking for manuals for Red white and blue 3 coin 1995
Post by: popsltd on October 31, 2022, 05:50:08 PM
New to this and trying to find information.  Love what I have read already. Guessing I have S machines

Looking for manuals for the following machines.
1995 red white and blue double 3 coin machine
1993 Wild Cherry
Just got them in the house and have not even plugged them in.  Is there anything I should do first?
Thanks a bunch!  I see from the other forum topics I'm in the right place!

They are probably S+ machines.  Post pictures of the inside of the machine (resize so photo is under 1MB in size if necessary) and we can tell you for sure.  S/S+ machines are really built like tanks and pretty tough.  S+ machines can have issues with a power supply connector on the motherboard that makes a machine appear dead (except for lights).  Both can have MPUs damaged by old batteries on the MPU that may leak.

First thing I would do after getting them home and before turning them on is open it up, remove the hopper and MPU board (if it has a black knob on the tray it's a S+) and make sure no coins are in the bottom of the machine or on top of the motherboard.  They can short things out and cause problems.  While the MPU is out check the battery voltage and make sure it doesn't show any signs of leakage.  Also make sure there is a sample coin in the coin comparitor.  If not, you won't be able to insert any coins.

If all that checks out plug it in, turn it on and see what it does.

Good luck!

If both machines, have issues, please start post separately for each one. Otherwise things get messy!
Do what Tilt says.
The machine manuals are made for technicians and won't do you any good at this point. Later down the road, consider becoming a contributing member here (for a month, year, etc) and you can download most of the manuals in PDF form.

Great news the Red White and Blue is working.
I had to run off a few credits, but other than that it is working.
It has the black knob on the mother board so I guess it is an S-
Not sure If I need a new post or not, but I have 2 questions.
1. What is the best way to power down, pull the plug or open the machine, hit the switch and then unplug.  (power surges in our area)
2. The pull handle does not pull is there a key setting for that?  How do I make that work?
I finally was able to get my pictures resized!!

Thanks, now on to the Wild Cherry!

Posted to soon I guess.

Ran some quarters thru, no problem.

Tried the bill collector - no luck, spit them out, but now the machine will not take quarters.  They just fall thru.
No error codes.
The machine also does not have the reset button, by the power switch.
If this should be a new post, Ill do that tomorrow.
Thanks a bunch!

Reach behind the on/off switch for the test button.
