I got a couple of GEN2 printers in the mail today.
I found out that I got the wrong ones - the darn plugs don't fit into the printer's circuit board... :duh:
So....playing around with GEN2 BB2 printers.
I'm finding out that when holding the "Feed" button while powering up prints these...I'm going to call them "information" tickets. :rotfl:
If you look at them, you'll see that they have different firmware loaded into them....they both work in a BB2. :yes:
In the photo below, the dark maroon GEN2 "Universal" uses the black MicroFit plug...came loaded with GNUSA7570 TKT-2.3
The pale, faded purple GEN2 "RS232" uses the older white Molex plug came loaded with GUN001411 TKT-2.3.
Now, don't get me wrong! BOTH GEN2's work with the BB2"s and they are both Netplex printers but they use entirely different cords and connectors at the printer end.
The tail end of the harnesses running back to the backplane harness use white 2-row,14-pin Molex connectors.
Make sure you get the right ones or you'll be mad at yourself.... :Tongue_Out:
