Title: CRT technical question -Grounding strap

Does anyone know what the technical specs are for a grounding strap ( aquadag strap)? I had one burn or corrode through on a Ceronix 1492. Can I use any braided metal as a patch for the missing section or does it have a special property?

I don't know the specs, but you could pick up a junk TV and salvage the strap from that.

Thank you, good idea.
A little follow up, member Badbaud said it needs to be braided and he helped me get a correct fit for my tube. Just wanted to share that in case anyone else happens to run into this. Don’t take shortcuts on this!
