Title: G20/G23/AVP 3.0 CPU Door CAM
Post by: Tilt on August 23, 2023, 04:43:11 PM
I recently bought another IGT G23 and of course the CPU door CAM was missing.  What happens to all these things??  Anyways, without the CAM you end up having to stuff a piece of paper in the CPU door switch to close it so the machine will play.  But the switch has to be open in order to key it and perform other administrative tasks.  So you end up having to stuff that piece of paper in and out a lot if you make many changes, and it quickly becomes annoying.  I came up empty handed searching for one, Spin inc, etc were out of stock.

Then I found a post that said member Prototypical was working on a 3D printed version of it.  So I contacted him and ended up sending him an original CAM from my other machine so he could check all the dimensions of an original.  A few days later he sent me the 3D printed CAM and it fits and works perfectly!  Adios annoying piece of paper.  Here's a couple of pics.  If you're in need of one or more shoot him a PM.

Thanks a million Prototypical I really appreciate it!

Appreciate you helping in the development of these. I'll post them in the classified section!

Yeah...kudos to Protypical for making these! :applause:

Tilt, are you using some sort of a spacer on that thumblock?
The door on mine remains partially open in order to get the lever to go into the microswitch correctly.

Yes, mine has a 5/16" spacer on it.  You can use another nut for the lock if you don't have the spacer.  Put the first nut on and run it until you have about 5/16" from the front of the lock, then put it on the door and secure it from the backside with the 2nd nut and install the CAM.  You can adjust it as necessary then tighten it up.

Okay good...that 5/16"spacer works much better with the cam.  Thanks

Yeah, this is awesome!

If any of you guys are interested in an OEM twist lock, I have one left.

PM if you’re interested.
