How many slots do you guys/gals put on one surge protector? Do you try and do one, two plug outlet per two machines? OR can you run multiple machines through a power strip? (One plug). Below is what I have. Has a built-in 10 amp breaker.
4-5 machines are S+, 5500, Game Maker.

I run a Game King 044, WMS Bluebird, and an S2000 on a Monster HTS1000 on the switched ports. I just shut everything on and off from the surge protector.

I run banks of 3 S2000s at home on a single strip. I sometimes run as many as 6 in my shop. Never had an issue. I'm sure there are many factors involved such as the circuit wiring, load & quality or rating of the surge protector.

It depends on the following:
1. Current draw of the machines,
2. Your total circuit load (how many other things are hooked up to the outlet and any other outlet that shares the same breaker)
3. Cricuit load limit based on the breaker on that circuit.
Most household 3 prong plugs are usually connected to a 15 amp circuit. With 120 volt circuits, that is a maximum draw of 1800 watts.
A while back I posted a thread on average current draw on various machine types. Assuming you have nothing else connected to this circuit and an average load of 300 watts per machine, then you are looking at a maximum of 6 machines. Remember just because there's nothing else plugged into the power strip, does not mean that something else is no plugged into another outlet that shares the same breaker. You need to know what else is using that particular circuit in order to be totally sure of your loads.

See Rick's post to make sure the breaker isn't overloaded.
A mixture (4 machines total) of IGT reels and videos, and WMS videos on one power strip .. then two power strips on a 20 amp breaker since most of them are without coin hoppers.

Not a biggie, but for some time all of the homes around here have been getting wired with 20 amp breakers for general lighting and outlets, no 15 amp breakers in the box. The outlets are standard 15 amp outlets, which is allowed per code on a circuit with a 20 amp breaker. Using a 20 amp breaker and 12 ga wire allows them to connect all the outlets in 2 larger rooms on one breaker. Cabling is 12ga romex (or other equivalent brand).

Wish my home was wired with 20 amp breakers. I had to run an additional circuit to the game room in order to accomodate all slots powered on at the same time.
