Just to be sure, Is there any setting or mod that could be set on the machine to disable the use of an ekey7?  I mean that would make no sense to me, but "if" the key is good I want to start thinking of what could be going on beside a bad key.


Note: I returned the key and have another coming from another source.

I think it's a counterfeit.  Your label is missing the IGT logo as you noticed, and if you look at the right side the corners are straight instead of rounded on all 4 corners. Hope you can get your $$$ back for that one.

Ouch! It looks fake for sure.
I don't have a photo but my ekey 7 has rounded label corners and the OEM logo in the background.

Sticking any license dongle in the secure area will give the verifying ekey prompt and do exactly what you are describing.Looking at the label on the ekey that looks like a generic Avery label that had one area trimmed down hence the rounded corners on one side and square on the other.
In my opinion, Im about 99% sure someone is trying to pass off a game dongle as an ekey.

Today I got a new ekey from a different source, it works as expected.


I have a quick game install question.


I try installing a game via the manage packages menu and get the error "host failed to acquire required meters install aborted, check settings"  Is there something im doing wrong?

Go to setup/communication/protocol/G2S transport advanced/legacy meter change- change to NOT REQUIRED.
