IGT S Plus Triple Cash Error code 0
« on: September 11, 2022, 08:38:49 PM »
Very happy with all the information that I have been getting and helping me through trouble shooting now 2 machines I purchased.
The Triple Cash machine had an error of 12 replaced the battery and had the 61 cleared that and everything was great.
Was playing it and ran a little over $300 in quarters thru it and shut it off and left for the weekend. Now everything is still working and firing up like it should, however nothing lights up when playing in coins played, credits or winner paid except in the winners paid just has a 0 on the far left.  :Scratch-Head:

I even tried the same board and swapped the chips and tried it in the other machine sizzling 7's, even the bill validator worked on that one and works perfect, other than just having that zero and no displays.

For the sizzling 7s machine- I was told it needed a new battery
When powering it up everything operated as usual reels twitched lights came on however no display of any errors.
So I checked the battery, it registered 3.65v It wasn't soldered completely in. It looked as if someone cut the old battery out and left the leads on there then took the new leads and twisted them together and put a dab of solder on them. Needless to say when I was testing the battery I noticed it was loose. Fixed that and figured that was it, however no display of any errors.
Talk to the guy I bought the machine and he said is son in law was playing around trying to fix it.
I went thru basically every thing on the noob site and not seeing anything jumping out liked burned connectors or anything.
So that is when i switched the 2 chips in the boards and tried the triple cash board in the sizzling 7's
I'm guessing the is something up with at least the sizzling 7's board or something tampered with??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

We can only assume you have the long displays because you said there's "a 0 on the far left"?
A bad power connector pin on the 2nd green wire from the power supply to the motherboard could make the display be "out".
Also a blown middle 8a quick blow fuse.

Here is a picture of the code, also tested all fuses.

Hope that picture works as can seem to shrink the picture with my phone. I can try adjusting the settings when I'm home again.

Your photo came out fine....good job.

I don't think that zero is an error code really.

There's really not supposed to be a zero in that position on the display - the zero would be in the rightmost spot in the [Winner Paid] window.

A zero doesn't mean anything really where it's being shown.

It appears to be some sort of a power problem instead....maybe a faulty ground pin in the power harness that comes from the power supply to the motherboard.

I do have a question for you tho....when you open the door, does anything come up in the [Coins Played] window?

Can we see a good photo of your battery soldering work on the MPU?

It very well may be the battery. I had to run jumper wires from the back of the board, because the previous owner basically fried the front and wasn't able to get solder to stick and also wasn't getting a reading when I tested it. I used threaded copper wire maybe I need a sold wire?
It makes sense that it's something like the battery on the mpu, because when I tried this in another machine, I got the same results.
When I get home I'll take a look at it and send pics.
Thank you again

Nothing comes up in the coins played window when opening the door. Checked the mother board and all connections in there are good. I'm attaching pictures and there are signs of corrosion.

I also placed the MPU in another machine and got the same results. So I would assume its something on the MPU.

Does anyone have an MPU that is know to work that I could purchase?

It's working, however the only solution will be a new board. I remember someone reached out with info on a board, however I have been busy on other projects and haven't done anything in over a month.
I would be happy to buy a board, just need to go through some old messages. Lol

I have had a similar problem. My S+ only displayed 0. I was advised to send a pic of the mother board, so I removed it and took a pic. When I installed it again the 0 was gone! So, I blame my mother board.

However, someone named Ron posted a picture of the mother board connectors, and advised me to be sure the display is plugged into correct spot.
