Bally S5500 Button, Lamp and Game questions
« on: November 02, 2022, 08:59:34 AM »
Recently picked up the machine shown in the photo and after some work on the corroded board got it up and running.  All is playing okay but there are some minor issues I would like to resolve and I have a question about the game itself.

Spin Button Lamp - The Spin lamp is lit all the time, except when I press and hold the Bet Max button.  I don't think is normal behavior.  I suspect the SCR/Transistor for that lamp (Q7) maybe bad.  If so, can I change it out with Q9 which I don't think is being used in this version of the game?

Bet max Button - This button doesn't work as expected.  When it is pressed, nothing happens as far as game play goes but the Spin Button lamp turns off.  I suspect these two buttons are related and wondering if perhaps the wiring is connected wrong.   I have the schematics but I don't have a wiring diagram that shows the wire color codes and what goes where on these buttons.  Is this available somewhere?

Game Type - Attached is a photo of the game.  The ROM chips have 7534 on them.  In test mode the game ID is 6627.  From what I've found on here this relates to the game Twist and Shout.  Comparing the win table with what I have they are the same.  So I suspect this is the Twist and Shout game but with a different art package.  I think the art is Blazing 7 Double Jackpot but that doesn't seem to correspond to anything.   This is really just more of a curiosity for me than an issue.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The buttons are lit when the machine has credits. The buttons will go out when there is no credits.

Then it must be a bad transistor as the light is on continuous regardless of having credits or not.
