Title: New to slots Bally e2278 light questions
Post by: tomcat68 on August 18, 2018, 03:40:50 PM
Hi,
You guys solved my sound problems.  I was wondering where to start on the fluorescent lights.  The belly light works, the bulb is missing from the top light and the two on the door don't work.  Is there a list of replacement bulbs, I figured I would start from there.
Thanks again,
Tom

I think the fluorescent light in the top of machine is a 13 watt bulb, 12 inches long. The starter is Bally p/n E-411-8 but that probably crosses to some commonly available starter.

The fluorescent bulb in the belly area is also a 13 watt bulb, 12 inches long. The manual shows 3 starters in the belly area, 2 are Bally p/n E-411-7 and the third one is E-411-8. Maybe some of those starters are to operate other bulbs in the machine.

The fluorescent bulb at the top inside of the door (the reels lamp) is a smaller bulb, I don't have the description for it. It's starter is mounted nearby, is Bally E-411-7.

Each starter will have a ballast nearby, they look sort of like a transformer.

If you remove the fluorescent bulb, you can find the type and size marked on the outside end of the glass. You will see something like T5/F8CW. T5 is a reference to the bulbs diameter, F8 is length and CW is cool white color of the bulbs light. WW is warm white. You will probably need to order then off a place like EBay. If you can find them in a store your looking at $6,$8,$10 a bulb in stores.
