Hi folks, I just picked up a nice 809ZT - but the top glass is shattered at the corner. I'm hoping for a source. Anyone? Thanks!
-
That is a very colorful top glass.
On one of the edges, Bally imprints the identification information,
( in most cases )
Hopefully someone has one for sale.
Another option would be to have one printed,
but the vivid colors and chrome won’t translate as well.

Example of the number on the glass is:
"Part Number 1013"
-
Identification example from a 831ZE machine.
Located top center.

Thanks All, I will examine it ans see if I can find a part number

my listing says an 809-ZT is a lightning game made for the Silver Spur casino. The reel tapes should just have 7s, BAR and BAR/5 symbols.
since that's not what you have, the machine is most likely a conversion ... or at least the serial/model number plate was swapped onto it.
top glasses in the 809 machines should have G-355-whatever part numbers, so your glass was probably not made by bally.
to figure out what the machine really is, can you post pictures of:
1] the reel tapes
2] the payout unit disc showing the entire wiper side, including wiring and especially showing the M-645-xxx number on the plate
3] pic of the code stamped into the slotted metal reel index disc for reel 1. Ideally post the codes on reels 2 and 3 as well.
in any case, it's extremely unlikely you'll find that glass, so your options are either make/have made a glass or convert the game to something you can find glass, reel tapes and index discs for.
afaik, only coos (https://www.coos.net/bingo_e/Backglasses.html (https://www.coos.net/bingo_e/Backglasses.html)) has come up with a way to make a mirrored glass. Everyone else just replaces the mirroring with silver or black lines.

Best to take high quality photos of the glass for reference.
Also make note of the dimensions. As I remember are 13 5/8 x 7 1/2, but double check.
Possibly add clear tape to the damaged area for transporting if need be.
This is a link to a video of a machine with custom made glass and reel strips.
Also search on this form, "809 new glass" will bring up a posting on the topic.

Thank you all for the feedback and advice. I will get a series of photos of the machine as soon as possible and put them up here. I'm pretty sure the machine was converted as the belly glass looks like it's from the 70s or even 80s and it only says "5 Cent Excitement " and is boring looking.

Another source is Monti's SLOT SHOP, Montislots@thegrid.net.
He's gotten me everything that I asked for in sourcing parts.

Thanks, I was looking to call Monti - he is located pretty close by me.
