Title: S+ 5CM Triple Diamond question
Post by: sccarlso on December 21, 2022, 07:06:00 AM
Greetings,

I don’t see many multi line S+ game/reel roms around.

But I recently obtained a Triple Diamond slant top with 5CM with one payline which is new to me on an S+.  Usually only see 2 or 3CM.

Can I get an SS & SP chip so instead of one payline with 5 credits, I have 5 paylines, with 1 credit per line?  Or some variant?   Usually I only see the S2000 machines with 5 paylines.

If so, I know I’d need new glass.  Would I need new reel strips as well?

Any comments appreciated!  Thanks!

Yes, line strips are different.

Thanks RB,

I had been referencing the IGT bible.  But both the 5-line & 5CM for TD Deluxe list the same 72(ABC) for the strips. So I have those strips already in the machine.

Also the Bible only lists SS chips.  Pretty sure I’d need a new SP chip as well, correct?

How can I locate a matching set of SS & SP chips for max percentage and the proper reel strip numbers to use to switch it to 5 paylines?

I’m having the same problem finding the right SS & SP chip and correct reel strip combination for a DD / Haywire mod.  I know they’re all the same strips for this mod, 72(AAA).  I just don’t have a reference for the reel strips to get so I don’t end up with mismatched payouts.  😁

Many thanks for any info or links!

Like RB said 5 line and 5 coin do not use same strips.  Also, there are no 5 line deluxe (nudge) games.

Correct, I’m just trying to identify the correct SP & SS chips for the 5 line Triple Diamond.  To switch this Triple Diamond  5CM to a 5 line.  The existing strips should be the same as they aren’t nudge reels.

I posted it was a Deluxe in error as I have 2 of the DD Deluxe machines.  But this is actually just a 5CM Triple Diamond.   If the existing SP chip is the same type for both 5CM & 5 line versions, can I simply replace the 5CM SS chip with the 5 line SS chip for it?  Or if I need to replace the SP chip for 5 line, I’m looking to identify the right SP chip to use.  If I can use the same SP chip and just replace the SS chip, that’s great.  Just looking for confirmation.

Thanks!

You can use same SP chip but the strips are totally different. 5 line strips are ABC. You will also need 5L award and reel glass.

I'm just wondering sccarlo....what SP GAME chip are you presently using?
I don't see it mentioned anywhere in your posts.   :Scratch-Head:

No argument here!  Hard to do that much without all the info!

This 5CM Triple Diamond has
SP1048  &  SS6321

There aren’t SP chips listed in the well organized IGT Bible.   Just a long spreadsheet file in downloads.

The SS chips are completely different for the 5CM vs 5 line though.

But both 5CM & 5 line variants are the same SP type, type 0.

So with that noted, and both are type 0, can I just replace the SS chip with a 5 line one, clear ram/enable the BV and done as both have the same strip layout?  (72 ABC).  Or will the symbols not align with payouts unless I have a specific set of reel strips for a 5 line SS chip?

And of course go on the hunt for 5 line Triple Diamond reel and top glass? 🙂

Thanks!

Strip layouts are different.  Also reel 3 strip has only 10 symbols on 3, 5, and 9 line TD games.

You don't have to use a Clear chip.
Just enable the DBV with your SET chip.
You have the change the Reel SS chip to match your award glass and strips...strips will be different.
You can keep the SP1048 in there, think of the SP chips as Windows XP or Windows 8....those are like OS Operating System chip software.
The SS chips are game specific and carry the programming for the award payouts.
There is some fella in Vegas that has tons of glass...ask around.

No need for a set chip either as long as you don't change SP chips and even then sometimes a set chip is not needed, the BV will still work.

Good to know SCM!
I never played with the DBV's all that much.

Good with that. Changing the SS chip is fairly easy.

But still takes me back to the root issue.

The new chip would be SS6692 or SS0334 for highest odds 5-line.

The reel strips in the IGT Bible are 72 ABC for both 5CM and 5-line.

How can I locate the actual reel strip numbers that match the SS chip?
The only refs I’ve found are par sheets for the SS chip, which list an ASCII diagram of the strips, but no actual strip numbers.  Pretty sure I can find them, but it’s still guessing without the actual strip numbers.

Is there any resource to find the actual strip numbers for the SS chip to ensure I get the correct strips?

Thanks!!

SS0334 or SS6992 are the highest chips for your 5CM3R5L game at 95%.
Sometimes the highest odds aren't available and you'll have to settle for something a little further down the chip lists.
The reason being is that the casinos didn't really like using those chips.
They would normally install harder chips, and those were the ones that were saved from the used/scrap machines around the world.

Are far as strip lists, there used to be some floating on the old website.
Maybe someone saved them...I know I didn't.

Ok, I’ll need to dig a bit.  Hopefully the files from the archive site were migrated here as I can’t get files from the archive .net site.

Thanks!
