Title: PE or PE+ blue screen issue
Post by: Phan000 on January 23, 2023, 11:24:03 AM
Saw this machine for sale locally.

Screen appears to work, but no game display.

Any thoughts on what this issue might be?

Its definitely not a PE+
The corner of each end of the display is also clipped unless that is a reflection.
This makes me think that something is wrong with the fly back where your getting lines running at an angle. Monitor problem ?
Significant burnin as you can see some oversized cards.
Can you play the game even though you can't see it ?

Owner states you cannot play the games.

I think the diagonal lines in the corner are just in the photo and due to refresh rate.

Definitely some screen burn from the cards.

I guess I’ll pass on this one.

How much is the owner asking? If its a $100 machine it could be a fun project. You do need to be prepared for potential battery damage on the board and/or some other troubleshooting. It is a good thing that the screen is at least illuminating. It is likely a Ceronix 1492 so they are very fixable….if you do end up needing a flyback they are a little difficult to find, but not impossible.

Looks more like an IGT Fortune 1.

He’s asking $200,  but probably negotiable.

Would be a good project for $100. I’ll see if $100 will do.

Alan is so right, I didn’t look closely at the picture. If there is a problem with the F1 board K-Lar can certainly help. I wouldn’t pay more than $100 or $125. It might be worth $350 or $400 if everything works. They are very robust once you get them working.

Badbaud, would that machine have a Trinitron monitor?
