I have a Bally 5500 poker machine which was dead for a while I have it going now except for coin jam error. At one start up the rake kept clicking on and off. I’ve switched coins, turned down the potentiometer to no avail. Is there any other suggestions, is this repairable? Please advise Thanks Ken

The coin jam error is happening at your coin optics. Most likely dirty. Disassemble and clean the holes, the senders and receivers and the Prism. The chattering Comparitor needs the large electrolytic capacitor replaced. Adjust the pot fully CCW for home use. If you need your comparitor repaired and tested, send me a PM.

Comparator board?
-
As Sunrise Side said you need to clean the optics board just under the CC. There are 3 optics (ABC) that need cleaned, do not use alcohol. Make sure they are lined up and not obstructed.
-
You have a CC62D comparitor. It does not have the capacitor. Either that board is failing or your main power supply is getting weak.
-
Is there a way to test and repair them or are replacements available?

www.slotmachinerepair.com (http://www.slotmachinerepair.com) fixes and tests the CC62's

Hi sixcardmark I was wondering if I would have to take apart and clean the coin optic board as well if so I don't know how to go about that and may mess it up and probably need help on how to do this properly thanks dutonp1955.

You usually get a code 21 if it is the coin-in optics.

should I try anything else or should I just send my coin comparator to you? and how much is it going to cost me?
