Title: 700006 error military e series
Post by: Scott427 on June 01, 2023, 02:43:22 AM
Finally managed to get military spec eproms.
Now I'm getting the 700006 error on startup.
Slot works pretty much fine without the P1 eprom. I'm able to use the test menu and such.
With the P1 eprom being installed results in errors. Test menu is not accessable.

Besides this error I also get the 76 error when I press reset.
The manual tells me this is an error where two resets occurred simultaneously.
Fixing the error according to tilt reset procedure F will not work. Pressing the bell cut off switch should make the error code stop flashing, it does nothing.
I'm certain the switch is wired correctly since it's recognized as switch 202 in test mode 3.

Removing Ram to clear, clears error 76.
Safe clear ram doesn't work.
Anybody got some ideas?

from what I remember about military E series machines, the regular reset and test buttons will not work until you use the key switch on the handle side of the machine. After activating that switch, you can then use the other two switches on the hopper.

Hope this helps

Ok, were there different generations of military versions? Because mine does have three key switches. Although the one on the top is a mechanical lever for the mechanical meters, the middle one is the tilt reset switch and the bottom one is a power cut off switch. Which one are you referring to exactly?

My slot has a small circuit board with an optic reader on it, like on the reel reader, that projects out of the cabinet. Might that be it? Do you know what it's for?
Also I've found that the key switch you're referring to, should be recognized as a 220 switch in test 3 according to the manual. In said test the tilt reset switch is 220 in my machine. Should be correct, right?

Side note: with the P1 removed and the test menu is working fine, I've noticed the test and reset buttons on the hopper board function without the need to press and hold the bell cut off switch. That shouldn't be possible. Could the bell cut off switch wire be in the incorrect position, even if it reads correctly as 202 in test 3?

That switch in the picture is the one I was referencing.
