Title: Bally Las Vegas 1975 Model 903 Hold and draw
Post by: tonysutho on May 01, 2015, 04:28:42 PM
Hi everyone I have an old 3 reel Las Vegas hold and draw bally  poker machine that I am having a lot of trouble to get to work. Firstly when you look at the reel mech on the left hand side rear there is a solenoid, a bank of switches, I have added a photo which will show you what I mean. The arm is broken off.  Secondly the feature does not work and the hopper does not payout on a win. Thirdly the hold feature does not work either. I think I bought a wreck.  If anybody can steer me in the right direction I would be  most grateful,

Thanks

Tony

Well Tony I am not sure where you are at but you are not dealing with a broken coin which there is a piece missing on that coin switch which if you're in the country United States I will send you one

That coil looks to be fried, DOA.. That's shouldn't be too hard to find here. I'm sure I have the parts too. Here's what it should look like (see pic).. This is on my Bally 873 reels. You will need to figure out why it burnt up that coil?

You are missing your coin relay armature, which allows that coin relay assembly (latching relay) to reset.  Instead it is always in the tripped position, which will allow for NO pays.
Also, the relay coil has a switch (NC) which opens after it trips and turns off the coil.  If the switch does not open, it may burn the coil.  It was a safety feature.
