Igame LCD Monitor Conversion
« on: February 13, 2014, 04:30:12 PM »
Has anyone successfully swapped out the crt in an I game to an LCD monitor?   How much would something like this cost?

I have done so more times than I can count.  It is very easy and will take about an hour your first time and twenty minutes by the time you get the hang of it.

I advise the use of Wells Gardner and suggest avoiding the Kortex as they have power supply issues.  Save a hundred bucks or so on those and pay the price 6 months later.

My supplier has a special (this month only) that I have been passing that along with my regular trade pricing onto my I-game clients.  Complete LCD Wells Gardner kits for the 17" included LCD, new Bezel, all harnesses, and connectors.  The only thing you need in addition is the touch screen controller which you will take from your old CRT monitor and reuse.  I believe street price on these is over $600.  My price to past and current clients this month only is $435 plus shipping.

Hi All

Also check Ceronix - the best gaming monitor in the market in my opinion.
Their upgrade kits include the LCD, Bezel and also the video EEPROM that needs to be changed.
They also now have LCD upgrades for PE+

What EEPROM is changed?  When I changed mine out it was plug and play.  Just remove the CRT chassis and insert the LCD chassis. Mine were the digital type if that matters.

Hi

I did some of my 17" Igames - It came with the Ceronix LCD conversion.
This was for 039 processor board. Its a small 8 pin IC that goes into position U17. (Its under the sound piggyback board next to the big XILINX chip)
From the note that came with the conversion it seems that some 039 boards have a older chip in this position that wont handle LCD.

Monitors on international IGT's are same spec as domestic.
