I'm new, my first post, so please go easy on me till I get up to speed. I've been lurking and reading a lot here, but being so new, there's a lot to learn. And please correct me when I'm wrong.
I just got my Game King machine It's the one with the games as tabs down the left side and then 9 games for each screen. Mostly VP, but some Keno, BJ, Slots, i'm pretty sure it's on an 044 board (i960 and only 1 socketed ROM on a daugter board mounted on the mainboard. My guy is telling me that it uses a key chip # 28 (which should arrive in the mail very soon).
I ran the machine a few hours today, everything works pretty well for a refurb, one weak "hold" switch in the #1 position, but I'll deal with that a bit later.
I noticed the bill accepter takes cash no problem, but it will not accept any tickets generated by the machine. If you put the ticket in one way it spits it out right away, if you turn it around it holds it saying that it's validating or something similar and after 20-30 seconds spits it back out. Ideas?
Thanks.

Hi Video Poker Guy!
Congratulations on your new machine. Those are awesome! Unfortunately, none of the machines will take tickets out of box. The reason is because the machines are setup to send the ticket information to a server. The server stores the information and when you re-insert the ticket, the machine attempts to validate the ticket back to the server. Since you have no server, there is no way for the machine to validate the ticket, so it spits it back out. That's kind of like taking a ticket from one casino and trying to use it in another ... the backend server won't recognize it, so it gets rejected.
However, there's good news! Just like the other slot enthusiasts on this site, we have figured out a way to allow tickets to work on a home slot machine. You have to add a device that "acts" like a server in a way ... basically, it tells the ticket what to print and recognizes the ticket again when it's inserted. This is referred to as Ticket In Ticket Out (or TITO).
Again, welcome! :Dave

A follow-up to this post. After looking things over, I decided to go with the Bettor Tito and contacted Jim about getting one. Well, a few short days later and i had the thing at my doorstep and in all of 10 minutes with the docs Jim provided it was installed and running. Couldn't be happier. I also looked at the video's for the upgraded product coming out and while I'm not sure I'll need those features, it's sure nice to see something getting continual development. Very happy with the purchase and has really changed the way I use the machine.
