Are there 1920x1080 Monitors that would fit BB2 Cabinets?
« on: December 08, 2022, 07:18:48 PM »
Hi,
I think it would breathe some new life into a BB2 cabinet if we were able to upgrade the 22" monitors to one's that support 1920x1080 (aka 2K).
The existing one's do 1680x1050, right?   Am I mistaken?

Or even better, 3840x2160 (4k) 22" monitors (1 with touch).

First the game wont load correctly if the MPU doesn't detect 1680x1050 resolution from the AD board. The after market monitor NEC thats 16x10 will work instead of an OEM monitor. Even if you can get it to work with a 4k monitor, the images will be upcaled to 4k and not look as good as you would expect as the games graphics were formated for the 1680x1050 resolution. Non widescreen games are not picky on the monitor but then your stretching a lower resolution graphics to upsale even further.

When SG came out with the Twin Stars, thats when they went to 4k.

Also 1920x1080 is Full HD and not 2k.

Hope this made sense.
