Replacing Blade (Tovis) Touchscreen
« on: December 08, 2022, 07:26:14 PM »
Does anyone here have any experience replacing the touchscreen on a blade monitor?
Mine has gone haywire, been putting up with it for a while but it has just become too flaky.

I've seen a couple different one's on eBay.   One of them says it includes the LCD screen..  I don't think they mean the actual LCD screen.. but the touchscreen glass.  They have not replied to my question.  But the pictures of the item look to be pretty close, maybe an exact match.. hard to tell.    The second seller's screen has some additional wires and cables mine does not have but the part number matches - 98-0003-3450-2

Is that even the part #?

On my screen, the touch ribbon cable goes to a 3M microtouch controller.   It has a sticker that says the two parts are a matched pair.  Really?  Does it matter I am going to be replacing it with a different glass/touchscreen?

Is Tovis the only monitor they used in Blades with Touch?

What do I need to look for?

I replaced the touchscreen (and fans) on a G20 MLD monitor before.  That was not too bad..

Any tips?

Do I just replace the whole monitor?

After hours of removing double sided tape, I've learned the blade Reel monitor's touch screen is larger/wider than the Video's touchscreen.
