The board is missing the main battery. That blue battery needs to be removed.

There should be a metal plate on the right side of the cabinet which has the manufacturing date. My guess is year 1999.

I believe the "M" model came out in 1981, the straight "S" in 1983.
It's reported the "S+" models were made in 1986 (Didn't Tilt have one?).
I could have sworn the S+'s came out in 1989...oh well...haha
The "S2000's" and "Visions" came out in October of 1999.

Your '97 model would be a very late model S+ version....just before the S2000's.

I could be wrong.  :rotfl:

I had an S2000 recently that also had a 1997 manufacturing date, and this always puzzled me. It was an S2000 and had all of the characteristics of one. VFD, Netplex operating system, Bat ears, printer. Though I'm not sure the printer was original.

I read somewhere that there were a bunch of machines with this 97 mfg date. Maybe they were prototype or a pre-production build with limited distribution for evaluation or market study. Attached is the tag.

I noticed on my tag there is no model number and the side speakers are small. In the same place where the other style are.

That is strange there is no model number. As far as the speakers, some of the early S2000's have the hidden speakers which are used on vision machines. I have a 1999 S2000 with the same speakers.

You guys are right... :yes:  the first 2-3 years, IGT made those small speakers on the S2k's.
I'm not sure exactly when when the "bat ears" came out.

I definitely like the small side speakers. Hopefully it sounds good. Sent the mpu out and just received a call that it’s all done. Should have removed and fixed the varta battery damage. It was giving me the main door open problem. The price is 185.00 to fix the board problems. Hopefully everything works out. Thanks for all your help.
