IGT S-2000 Netplex display error message
« on: February 01, 2023, 05:43:38 PM »
Hi
I hope I'm posting in the correct place, if not I apologize.
I have a IGT S-2000 Double Diamond reel slot machine, and when I power it up I get a "Display's Netplex is Down".  Being a newbie I don't know what this means or how to correct it - can someone please guide me as to how to correct it?  Will be very grateful for any assistance!

Netplex is simply a two-way communications protocol the CPU uses to talk to devices installed in a machine. There are a number of things that can cause this error. The most common, and the first thing to check, is the power supply which is located behind the reels. Be sure it is well seated and not loose. You might try unplugging and reseating it. If you have another S2000 machine, try swapping power supplies and see what happens. If you are unable to swap power supplies, measure the voltages. There should be 13vdc and 25vdc output.

This is at least a good starting point. When you get this far, this forum will help you with the next steps on things to do.

Hi Wiz

Just a caution, you being new to the hobby.

Be sure you power off the machine before plugging or un-plugging anything.

Thank you both for your input!  Machines been working fine for the longest time, this happened last week.  I'll begin by checking out the power supply as suggested.
