Title: IGT CMOS error
Post by: Dreese on October 06, 2020, 10:42:46 AM
Hello all.  I have an IGT Jokers Wild slant top showing a CMOS error after replacing the battery.  I noticed that the DATA chip is missing from the board.  Could this be the problem?  Thanks

You need to specify what type of machine you have, but I am guessing is a players edge or game king type machine?  Please verify so that a moderator may move this to the right topic area.

As far as your CMOS error is concerned, it is normal to get a cmos error after a battery replacement since the cmos is powered by the battery that was replaced, so it needs to be re-initialized.  Depending on your platform, you may need a key or clear chip, or just a matter of pushing the reset button on your mpu or cabinet and probably twisting the jackpot reset key a couple of times.  Again, you need to verify for us your machine type.

Here is a pic showing the missing DATA chip.  This has to be the problem, right?  If so where can I find one and what exactly should I be asking for?  Thank you

You have a multi game "super board" but only have software to support one game. The Data chip is not used for some single game software.
