You must determine what software is in the top box to be able to identify the proper chip set required.
Without the MPU tray installed power up the machine and see if the top box displays anything.
If the top box is in order it should eventually (after about 7 minutes) come to a screen that says initializising please wait.
Are there reels and reel strips in the machine?
Show a picture of the inside of the machine.
This will be a project.

Thank you for your first quick response.

I will try it when I am ready with cleaning……Also Batteries need to be exchanged…. all of them are empty..

I added some pictures from the inside and some Infos on the LCD where it’s mentioned with BGM and ATA should be in….

Yes reels and glass also is available…

Also a bill acceptor is there…

So when I’m ready with cleaning try to start up and follow your advice…and then come back to you

If you have any further hint I would appreciate it

Regards
Tom

OK looks pretty good so far. You saved load optimized settings when you had keyboard hooked to top box I am assuming.
I have just a few more questions:
1) Do you know if the lower CPU that you currently have  came with the machine and was the machine operating  in Europe with Euros?
2) Are you expecting to operate your machine on Euros?
I ask this because the VS011GX1 on the MPU will only work with US denominations and would also have to be changed to an international VS chip. ( and will also affect what other game chips that I recommend).
Almost there good work so far!

Hi Rich

yes the MPU comes with the machine but I have never seen it working…..but it was used with Euros. Coin comparator is for Euros and Multidenom is also Euros..

And yes I want to use it with Euros…

Would be great if you can provide me the right chipsets for that…

Thanks
Tom

I looked again and you have a VS011IX1 and that is an international chip so you are good there.
I am having some difficulty how do you know you have ATA20045 and BGM20209?
I ask because ATA20045 is usually a bios 1(red, white, and blue finger screen and not the energy star you have in the picture. This is critical information

There is a label on the LCD see picture…

But when the LCD boots is BIOS 2 Star like on the Picture….

Should I try to find something on the HDD itself of you have a different Idea ?

Yes take a look at the hard itself and see if anything is written on it. Not uncommon as these machines are nearly 20 years old and it probably does not have the original hard drive or top box.
That being said I have NOT tested this configuration but I believe SG000310 and SB000563 would be my best guess for the chip sets you need.

Hi together,

Update.

So I tried SB000563 and SG000310.

Comes up with an RAM Error. Could not reset via Reset Key … No Reaktion …Should come to the point Press Test switch…never reached.

Then I cleared with Clear 224. Wait until 2 amber lights come up. Go back to Sb 563 . Then it comes up with short message Display Netplex link is down. Switched to RAM Error. Also no reset via Reset Key possible…Add picture from MPU lights.. 2 are not light up…

Also without any SB and SG chips upper monitor come up until initialization. Now upper PC is not starting up at all…

Any recommendations or hints appreciated

Tom

Chips in the correct orientation?
No bent pins?
Picture of the chips installed on the board would be good.
VFD only states RAM error nothing else?
Verify jackpot key switch is hooked up and switch is working.

Also if you remove the lower MPU and turn the machine on does the top box boot?

Hi again,

without sb and sg chips top box boots up unit initialisation.

Then installed chips . Top box still boots. But VFD mentioned direct Ram Error. No reset with jackpot key possible… Checked jackpot switch and kable connection to jackpot switch. Ok.

Then cleared maschine with 224. Started normal ,wait until 2 amber lights come up. Changed back to SB. Started again, on VFD short massage Netplex link is down jumped to memory check ended with Ram Error…nothing else…

On the picture it’s mentioned SB536 but it’s SW SB563 on it… checked again…

Maybe wrong SB Version ? Found in the overview two further one for Frog 15 L 75 Max Reel Touch Sb 497 and 503

What is controlling the Netplex connection Base Chip or Game Chip ? Maybe can try to reprogram the critical one.

Tom

Pictures from MPU lights before mounting SB and SG chips

So are you saying the SB chip is labeled incorrectly?
How are you sure? What is the ChkSum?
A SB000536 is a Larry Lobster chip.
SB503 is for new frog Prince with BGM20205 (usually bios 1) you can try it. Hard to say without knowing BGM.
I can test to see if 563/310/IX0 will boot on one of my machines.

Hi again,

thank you first for the quick responses…

Here my Homework done…

Checked SB again it’s a 563 CHK034E also gamechips checked again are 310 gme1 CHK 5A70 and Gme2 CHK A062.

BGM checked again. Checked HDD in Topbox and is same date and there is a serialnumber on it which fits to complete serial number. See pictures. So my assumption is that it was not changed. Also add picture from label where the Version is mentioned again….

Thank you that you try out that setup on your machine. Please keep me posted about the results

Thank you for the great support

Tom

ChkSum on SG000310 game 1 should be 5AF0.
I would suspect a corrupt chip.
The others appear to be correct.

Editor's note: VS011iX1 was corrupt and replaced.

So is the machine working?
Configuration:
SB000563
SG000310
VS0011iX1
RFA20001
ATA20045
BGM20209
Is this correct?
To set up multi denom you will need to key the machine again follow this link:
http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=27914.0 (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=27914.0)
For the 75 credits are you talking about needing the reel glass sticker?

Hi,

yes machine is working. Also Bonus is starting…

Only multi denomination is not working…

Setup

SB000563
SG000310
I use at the moment VS0011iX0

RFA 20001
ATA 20045
BGM 20209

Next planned step is switch to VS0011iX1 and try to setup multi denomination.

With the actual setup it is a 150 credit version. So I need to change reel Glas sticker and bottom marking for the bets per line from 1-2-3-4-5 to 1-2-3-5- 10.

Or has anybody a 75 Line Version ? Any hint is appreciated…

I will keep you posted about the progress

Tom

Are you saying the SB000563 is a 150 credit max bet??
It should only be 75.
Or do you need 150 credit SB to match your glass?
I lost you somewhere in this conversation.

Nice job Thomas!
Glad you were able to bring another dead soldier back to life.
Was your 563 chip mislabeled  how did you get back to 75cr?
Congratulations enjoy!
You may need to replace the touchpad if you are having issues with operation in multi. Place a WTB in the classifieds section of this forum.

Yes….

My 563 was a mislabeled 504…

On the touchpad only 2 components are missing but I have no schematic from the board…

Thanks again
