Bucks Ahoy top box problem

I put the Bios2 in the non functioning unit and the top monitor is not displaying anything at all. Led lights are on the boards and the fan is working but nothing comes up on the screen. Hopefully that helps to pinpoint the issue?

Try reseating the memory but the bottom line is that top box motherboard is bad. Any beeps from the unit when you plug it in.
At this point the only possible chance is to try and recap it. This is a difficult job at best since the board is two sided with no guarantee that this will fix the problem.

Will try the memory sticks. A couple years ago I was able to buy a motherboard for the top box for $45 on eBay. I don’t see any on eBay. That’s not good

Unfortunately those ebay boards are long gone.
That would probably bring it back to life.
Might want to post a wtb to see if someone wants to part with one of those ebay boards.

Do you think I should swap top box motherboards to confirm?

Not sure the risk is worth the reward?
Remember the working box is just as old and fragile.
Most of the time aside from contacts on the ram memory the rest of the top box components are usually bullet proof.
You may want to swap memory to confirm they are good.
It was semi booting before when it was a bios 1 correct
No beeps when you power it up? Did you get the bios chip in correctly?

When I swapped the non working machine to the bios 2 I got no beeping at all. No video at all. Does that mean something?

Not to be a smart ass, it means it's broken.
Maybe the cpu under the fan, usually the only time those fry is if the cooling fan failed, but you said it was functioning.
If you pull the memory sticks out and try to power up it should start to beep. If it doesn't it's no longer attempting to boot. Again recap may fix this.
