Title: V-2000 Eprom check problem
Post by: wallbanger on March 19, 2016, 06:31:39 AM
:hissyfit:  Machine runs and plays beautifully.  For the most part.  I have the original 3 card rack and an NOS 3 card rack. Both play great, but then it goes into an eprom check over and over again.  Turn off machine, pull boards and reseat.  plays great for awhile, then eprom checks again,  I have cleaned the board tabs and the main sockets.  Both board sets do this.  Also at the same time its bleeping over and over the coin rejecter coil is turning on and off each time it restarts its cycle.  Any clues where to start?  Thanks, John

I would check the plug connections on the power distribution board and power supply.. I had a V2000 doing some strange things.. I never really found the problem, but I did unplug all the both boards and plug them back together and my problem stopped.. Those pin connectors do tarnish.. Hopefully yours is that simple.. The other thing to check would be your edge connector plugs on the 3 board stack, those connection go bad from heat cycles.. Other possible is that your have developed a bad solder connection on one of your boards sockets, or other IC's..
