Dear "Get Together" Friends,
Just a quick update !! In December a cat scan shows that I have stomach cancer. In Feb I had an operation that failed to remove the tumor, so I am now on tube feed with chemo until the tumor shrinks enough to be removed so a second operation will be coming up again perhaps in May. Don't know what shape I will be in by August but I hope I am well enough. Sorry to say the next "Get Together" may be put off until next year. But I will continue to update all of you folks and hopefully we will be able to keep our August "Get Together" Denny

I shared the news about Dennys health situation with the wife. She remembered how I enjoyed last years get together. We just moved into this new house in January. Still a few boxes around. I set up my game room last week. All 11 games operational.
I was given permission to host the get together this year on August 19th at my home if there are any takers. I dont have a pool but Dave can still wear a thong if he likes.
Google it first. Pawling NY is a long way from everywhere!
Let me know if there is any interest. Just trying to give Denny a break and keep the tradition alive. Denny can sit back and relax on my deck.
Any thought on this?

Hi all, I'm new to this site and "Real" slot machines. I used to mess around with the Pachislo ones, but they are just not the same. Finally got myself 4 Bally machines and an old Universal that I was able to resurrect from the dead and make it look almost new again. Anyway, I'm in Lancaster, Pa. I'd love to have some sort of swap meet or something here at my place. I have a very large property, could probably have 100 tables or more. Decent amount of parking space too. It would be nice to meet everyone and share some parts, stories, and help. Well, keep having fun guys. Thanks,

Welcome. You will find great people and information on this forum. Someone here can help you with anything. Your offer to host the get together is well received. Especially since no one wants to come almost to Connecticut to my house. I cant say that I blame them.
I think the group is a little in shock at the news about Dennys health challenge. We are rooting for him. If he retires his chef hat and defers to you I will be there with a big appetite.
Send us some pictures of your games and tell their stories. We like pictures. :applause:

Hi Gang, I'm still on tube feed and IV's but have a cat scan coming up in about 2 weeks. If the tumor has shrunk enough to be removed with another operation, that would be great. If not perhaps another month of chemo might do the trick. Still not sure about August quite yet but perhaps. If not September might still be good. I have already designed this year's T shirt so at least that will happen. I will try to keep everyone updated. CANCER is such a BITCH !

We can't put the get together on Denny. Thought I'd throw it out there as an alternative place for having it. Date is flexable. If people are interested let me know or If you have another place to have it post & we'll see how many are interested .

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the messages and prayers, I really appreciate it! I am still in bed with tube feed and Chemo IV in each arm. Haven't had anything to eat or drink since February. Went to see Oncologist on Thursday and I am to remain on chemo for at least 2 more months. I have appointment with my surgeon on the 19th of this month. I am hoping the tumor is small enough that they can remove it this time. I am hoping the third operation will be the charm. Looks like the next "Pottstown Get Together" will have to be next year. That gives everybody time to get ready to have lots of fun (and time to get ready to eat lots of food)! :24: :24: I have the shirts already made and I have a special gift for the wives/girlfriends. I will update everybody after my appointment with the surgeon on the 19th. Hope you are well and enjoying the Summer.

Hey Gang,
Nice hearing from all of you. Here's the latest update as of yesterday ! Third operation to take place August 31st. It will be a double operation. About 10 hours in surgery. The first part will remove remaining stomach tumor and second part will need to cut from under right arm down to stomach area and over to middle of chest, then bring remaining part of stomach up and reattach to esophagus. Doc says my stomach and chest will "look like a battlefield", but only way to do it. Then about 10 days in intensive care and then about 10 more days in hospital. Tube feed will stay in for another 3 months until I can learn to eat again. I will make it though and be ready for our "Pottstown Get Together 2018" I just got shirts back and all we have to do is set next years date. Gives time for Shaggy and Qbert (Rich) to get their plane tickets in plenty of time :24: . :applause: . More updates as things progress. Thanks to you all for your support.

Hi All,
First...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all ! And just an update.. they have removed the final drain tube and pump from my back and I can finally lay down (at least part way) to sleep. I have been sleeping sitting up for the last 4 months. I am currently off chemo and started eating soft foods but am still on tube feed and IV's in one arm. I am getting hungry for Pennsylvania Dutch potato salad. If you are not sure what that is, then you have to come to the Pottstown, PA NLG Get Together next year. I make my own PA Dutch potato salad and cucumber salad and you can eat all you want (I'll make more :24: ). Looking forward to next August and I will continue to update. Thanks to everyone, love you guys !!! :thank_you:

I sure hope there will be a 2018 get together! I was into the hobby a long time ago. But now I am back on board! I got myself a new project! Plan on cleaning her up and getting it to fully work!
