Title: Bally "Classic" Challenge/Toy
Post by: 63mini on January 26, 2018, 05:23:38 PM

I picked this "Classic" up today. I bought it because I knew Nick & Mickey who had designed the originals (and for $80.00 why not). However, this was made years before I met them. Anyway, it is complete and real clean! It doesn't currently work but, should be able to sort that out. It accepts coins and the meters advance but, it doesn't step up or play when the handle is pulled. I'll go thru and check and clean all contacts and go from there.

Nice find for 80.00, I bought one of those over thanksgiving while in Florida, they are different inside, tight spaces also, yours is way nicer than the one I bought and I paid 150.00... Really have not done much with it yet, will be watching your progress, many thanks for your post....

That's cool, shaped like a pinball machine.  Looks like it's in really nice shape so hopefully it will be easy to get working.

Well, I am happy to say that she is up and running. All it took was cleaning the contacts, adjusting a couple of contacts and a new agitator to replace the gooey sticky one.  :ill:

It's a fun little game and it shows Nick passion for cars with it's design.  Even the wife kind of likes it.  :cool_thumb_up:

On a sad note....  I found out that Nick Gutknecht passed away on 12/12/17.
