Title: Game King Door Open
Post by: hotlsot on February 05, 2018, 12:24:36 PM
I'm putting together a 6.0 game king (044) and the touch screen doesn't run because it won't see the door closed (door open M) on screen. I've bypassed the belly switch, replaced the main door switch, tried a different main board and a different back board, bypassed the switch on the bill validator, even replaced both I/O cards. what am I missing?

The door signals don't go through the I/O boards.  They go directly to the motherboard and then to the MPU board.  I've attached a wiring diagram.  Check for continuity between P19 pin 4 (green/blue tracer) and P11 pin 1 (violet/black tracer).  It should read 0 ohms with the belly and door switches closed.   If it doesn't start tracing the wiring through the switches until you find the problem.  If it does read 0 ohms then you have a problem with the motherboard (not likely since you said you replaced it already), or the MPU board.  Check the MPU board for bent pin(s) in that case too.

Thanks for the help Tilt, that was a good call. I originally did a visual of the wiring from the door switch to the plug all good, so I started the swap process and even tho I know the door open doesn't go through the I/Os I swapped them too. But alas the visual not always works. It can't account for some twisted slot tech. who disabled the machine by cutting the wire right were they make the band out of the monitor cabinet into the bottom cabinet where the board is . It was a clean cut and the jackass cut them right where you could not see them. Funny ...... real damn funny.

Glad you got it figured out and fixed  :applause: .  Sometimes these machines come with some strange problems for sure.
