Title: Bought a Vest Pocket... can't seem to control myself.
Post by: shortrackskater on February 21, 2018, 06:21:46 PM
I did it again! I just couldn't resist. This was listed on eBay for $429, buy it now, or make best offer, free shipping. It sat for a couple weeks. It's complete and had the cash box too. I made a low-ball (but friendly) offer which was rejected. I waited a few more days and they lowered the price to the high $300's. It still sat there. Shipping can easily be in the $40 range for these things. Then they lowered it to $329. I sent a "less low ball" offer of $235. They countered at $300. I counter countered at $260 and they counter counter countered (!) at $275.
OFFER ACCEPTED!  :applause:
The box arrived and I opened up. I was pleasantly surprised to see this was a chrome VP. I though, by the picture, it was just gray. I cleaned up a bit of the back door and it looks like this will actually shine up nicely. There's a part that was inside the cash box that attaches to the coin slide. I think I can figure it out.

Is that the one from Texas? If so, I had my eye on it too. If that is the one I am glad it went to a good home.  I always worry about the coin slide on them when shipped.

Thanks for posting! Keep us informed on your progress.

That was the one, from Texas.
I was a little worried when the box arrived... it was a bit on the small side meaning LESS packing. I don't understand why people don't use common sense in packing. They had wrapped the machine once in thin bubble wrap, then added "slivers" of styrofoam on the sides and folded up bubble envelopes as more padding, which I can put in my shipping area for re-use since they're new.
When I opened the box they had positioned the coin slide with LESS padding then the sides so I was expecting it to be broken. Luckily it wasn't! Shipping was over $40 so, yes I think I got a deal on it.  :applause:
