I have a BB2 TSE board. I need to know where it plugs into on a BB2.
I was told the J21 plugs into the "top box" slot. I did this and the game still comes up with (lost communication top box)
Does a TSE box only use the J21 plug?

If you are using the TSE as just a fooler it needs to be plugged into the J21 on the backplane and into the TSE, that's it.
Was this a tested working TSE? Does it have the 'fooler' card installed? Battery good?
I have only seen a couple bad TSE's.. I have seen the chips go bad on them tho.

I will change the battery on it when I get home as far as the "Fooler card" It has Mermaids gold top box CF in it. Would that be considered a "Fooler card"?

I think it's Bonus City that works as the fooler card. You can plug a computer monitor or top monitor into the VGA out on the TSE to see if the TSE is actually working when fired up. It'll show the game name and some other text on the screen it's connected to. Been a while since I messed with those.

It's Monopoly Cash Flow top card that is used as in a TSE board. But this is confusing, why would a BB2 playing Mermaid's Gold have a monitor with a TSE board on it?

I think he just bought the TSE out of a Mermaid and plugged it into a BB2 for a fooler. BrokenTicker was selling the TSE's off those monitors recently, I assume thats one he bought?

Oh ok. I think he just needs a battery and a card change/fry. I just remember seeing those listed and thought that was it.

It's going to show that seeing you are not using the TSE for that game. You are trying to use the TSE as a fooler, and that requires Mono Cash Flow card like Jeff said. Simple really, grab that card and should be good to go if the TSE is working.
Any other card you have plugged in can show if the TSE is working. You need to plug in a monitor to the TSE and see what it shows. If the screen is blank then that TSE is not reading the card.. It should show the game name/numbers and some other text on that screen.
