Title: Name this GameMaker!
Post by: ShortCourse on October 23, 2019, 12:01:15 PM
Hello all!

After having many of our machines sit unused for years, I'm working on getting them back up and running.  Two machines in particular are giving me a run for my money.  This is a Bally GameMaker HD 7, but I cannot figure out the model of the machine itself to save my life.

When powered on, you get a long audible beep followed by the screen saying "VGA In" followed by "No Input".  Shortly after, the screen turns off.

I've replaced three CR2032's that I found.  I'm certain I will need clear chips, so that's why I'm on the hunt for the model.  I've checked all the connections that I can get my hands on and just not sure where to go from here.  A lot of the internals are similar to our Bally Alpha upright machine, but that's all I've concluded.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I was able to connect my laptop to the machines monitor via VGA and it worked, so I do not believe the monitor to be the issue.

Heyoh!  Ended up robbing parts left and right out of the Upright Bally machine and got this far...

Now I just need to find the correct Clear cards...

I had to swap the MPU but keep the original MPU power supply and the 24v ballast...

Looks like Quick Hits is going to need a slew of parts, but excited to make progress on the Gamemaker.

Wow, a bartop Gamemaker HD, first time I've ever seen one, kind of cool actually.  For the gamemaker you need a clear 320.
