Post by: SlotMechanic on July 27, 2014, 02:37:32 PM
Whats up everyone.....
After searching ebay for bally alpha things everyday, I've seen alot......Recently, laslots has been posting alot of kits on there....but i am un experienced with which game can run on which mpu.... is there a rule of thumb when looking at these games....or is there a trick to know which on will run on what......this would be a good FAQ for the alpha guys....cause i really don't want to buy a kit that won't work on my system..

Thanks guys...

ps. Thanks harvs for telling me don't buy it!!!!lol

A lot of the newer alpha's ran a 1-gig box,  Some 512's will run some of the stuff you see for sale as long as it is not alpha2 stuff.  It would be a feather in your cap to get a 1gig box with dual vid. card and then you know 9/10 you can run all that stuff.  Box is also upradable to 2gig-Fast,fast,fast-- :road_runner: .

Thanks sizz....one more question is, how to know which box I currently have? I believe I have the 512, but what do I look for to confirm this?

Thanks for your help!

You have a 512 in that machine. During boot-up it'll show, in diagnostics, or the serial # on the MPU.

Some of those games for sale would be impossible to run.., not only because the software would be hard to find, but because they are linked prog games (1,000,000 degrees, etc). Not even sure standalone was even made for those titles..?? (At least this is what I was told when I asked about them.)
