Post by: Bultar on May 04, 2020, 02:40:35 PM
Can anyone tell what this error code means?

I replaced the battery, and now see this:  (see pic)

Thanks!!

So the slot worked fine for several years, then I put it in storage for a few years.  Recently took it out, battery was dead (81 code, with fast blinking lights).  I replaced the battery, and with power on (before trying clear chip), this was the display.  I've replaced battery before, but never saw this error display.  And so far I haven't been able to find and explanation online.
Thanks again for any help!

Check for bent pins on the MPU where it plugs into the backplane . Make sure your MPU is fully  seated.  Some are  a very  tight fit and hard to get fully seated.

Thanks Sunrise Side,
I checked pins again, and all are perfectly straight.  I've always been very careful with that, and it is seating fully... and still giving me that weird "blank 0 - u." code.

Any other ideas anyone?  I did order a new set of clear chips, so I'll try that when they arrive.

Thanks!!

Is your  battery polarity  correct?

Well, I'll check today, but I'm 99.9% sure I put the new one in correctly.  I did solder in a battery holder the other day, so future battery replacements will be easy.

Yep, battery polarity is correct.
I should have new clear chips in a few days, hopefully that helps.

So... I got clear chips, did a Complete clear.
The CH C changed to CL C, with blinking lights.
Apparently no error was detected since it didn’t change to E  C.
I put game chips back in and powered up.
The Reel Calibration procedure executed, and then I got this:
01.01 (with first 01 flashing) in Win Paid, and
00. 1 (that’s a space before the one, in Credit.

01.01     00. 1

Nothing I do gets beyond that.
Any ideas??
Thanks!

Its been a while since I worked on a S6000, but I believe its the date
which you can set or not.

AH!  I hope that's it, I'll work on it again later this eve.
Thanks!

Yes it is the date. You can set it or just press the "Change" to enter the date as is. Then it should show  50. Door open. Close the door and  " Insert Coin " light will blink if bulb is not burned out, and ready to play.

All fixed!  Skipped the date, went on to set all 11d options, then just had to do a deep clean of the coin comparator and bill validator, and now everything seems to be working great!
Thanks for the help!
(I still haven't figured out how to get bills to go to credit on my other machine, IGT S+, but otherwise that one is working great too!)
