Title: Machine ID please?
Post by: TopDogElec on August 03, 2020, 09:25:06 AM
I don't have physical possession of this machine as of yet, picking it up this afternoon or tomorrow. What I do know is that it is a Mills Bell-Fruit, 10 cent machine. Also I've been told that the arm will pull with or without money and that it pays out randomly on non winning combinations sometimes. Other than that I don't know anything about it, never have had a Mills before so I'm sure I will have questions in the future for the experts. Any Mills experts that can help me identify this machine and possibly a service manual of some sort?

It's an exported machine made by Mills, I'd guess in the 70's. Many of these came back to the USA and were converted to US coinage.
It appears to have an electric solenoid that releases the handle once the coin is inserted. I need a better photo.
If the reels strips were changed, for whatever reason, that could explain the seemingly random payouts.
The handle release may have just been jimmied to work without coins.
When you get it, post a large photo of the inside.
It's also likely this thing was 220VAC so there may be a large step-down transformer inside so that it can run off 110VAC. Be careful in that area, when plugged in.
How much did you pay for it?

Picking it up probably tomorrow, schedules didn’t match up. But I’m paying $250 for it and it’s about an hour drive away from me. Once I have it in my possession I will provide better pictures, these are from the listing on Facebook from the seller
