There’s a guy that selling a Bally lightning 855-4 smh-19 and I wonder if anyone have any info about that machine, and if it’s a rear machine ?

the slim line slots were intended to replace older mechanical slots.  The standard bally cabinet was wider than the mechanicals, so some people had space problems.

however, they had to lower the handle in the slim lines, which took away hopper capacity.   That wasn't a good thing for casinos - which typically didn't have cabinet width issues - so there's less slim line machines out there.

on my incomplete listing, only Harvey's Wagon Wheel and Cal-Neva Club casinos bought 855 machines that weren't generic bally games.  855-4 is a generic bally "lightning" machine.

I assume the game in your picture had a topper sign with the payouts ... my list says M-1433-152 is the part number, but I doubt that's very useful.

wrt parts you'd probably want to ask some of the vendors like KLAR directly.

Here’s some more pictures of the machine and as you said it has the lightning topper sign in decent condition.

So my question if this machine is worth restore and how rare it is?

It’s not my favorite game but if it’s very rare Im thinking of buying it and restore it and keep it a live for a long time..
I probably can’t compare the value and prices here in Scandinavia with prices in USA but asking price for the machine is around $500- $600

Does the numbers on the plate make any sense of nationality etc.. SMH - 19

the SMH-19 is the serial number.  I don't know if the SMH means anything.

I've never heard of anyone collecting slim-line games and don't know how rare they are.   If you needed cabinet parts, probably rare enough to make life difficult.

pity it's a lightning game ... those are less popular.

So I guess it’s not a keeper this time 🙃

Thanks again for your info and for making me not buying the machine! 🤗
