I have an s6000 board here giving me a headache with no sound, everything in the cabinet is good and verified with another mpu, the prob is on this board, what I’ve done so far with no change.
Changed amp
Checked all resistors around amp
Changed caps
Swapped Yamaha chip from working board
Tested pot
What am I missing ???
Thanks guys !!!

Does it have the deluxe sound card? It's located next to the reels on the left hand side if you do.
-
Yes it does that’s all working fine
-
Ok. I ran into an issue were I didn't have sound once and it was because of that board. Since you've checked it and it's good along with all the other things you've done, maybe the MPU itself?
-
The issue is on the mpu that is what I am working on and trying to diagnose, where on the mpu
-
I see that now, sorry I missed an important sentence :banghead:
-
Which caps did you replace C6 and C2?
-
The 470uf’s right by the audio section, no change, poking around I didn’t find any mylars shorted that I noticed either
-
did you try swapping out u19?
-
Did you make sure all 3 legs of the volume control are still soldered to the board?

Yea that all seems fine and the pot sweeps and measures correct resistance
-
The pot is for on board sound. I read it as you have either the deluxe soundboard or pro sound 2, either of which have their own pot on bthat board. The main board pot can be turned all the way down when using either external board.

The onboard sound circuit on the mpu has issues which is where I’m working, pro sound board is fine game works fine with a different mpu, this particular mpu has no sound output
