Post by: rapidroy on November 15, 2014, 08:14:15 AM
Hi All
I have a Dell Duo mini netbook with Windows 7 and I can't get Mame to work? I download the latest 32bit ver. and all that happens is the first small screen pops up and goes away then the whole screen goes black. thats it. it works great on my XP desktop but not my netbook.

Personally, I'd check the MAME or BYOAC forums  Lotta good expertise out there.

Thanks,
Jason

weird, the only thing I can think of is that version .155 is using a instruction set not supported by the atom processor.  Isn't it kind of slow running it on that notebook?

poker games work great on it, at 1.66GHz and 2G ram it should be good, I'll DL Donkey Kong and i'll let you know about the speed. :rotfl:

Any chance the OS is 64bit ?
Control Panel, System will tell you that.
If so your 32bit program you will need to set to run in compatibility mode, Create an Icon on your desktop, right click, properties, compatibility mode.

For what it's worth, 64-bit architecture will yield about another 20-30% performance gain in MAME.

Thanks,,

You can just type the name of the game and the contents of the game display will change accordingly.
