Title: montecarlo bally 6000
Post by: ALIDMAN on December 15, 2015, 09:44:04 PM
Hi everyone , I am stuck , need help please :
I ended up with  montecarlo 6000 , and tried to clear chip it , I have set of clear chip that I know it works, but I order new set from Rudy's deal that promises me that it will make the printer work , I know that I must have 2003 and newer chip on my board and I do have the 2004 set chip on my board, so I have clear chip and it did not work , it shows me code ( 83F1), so I used my old clear chip and it did clear the board and I was able to set the game up but the MEI bill validator did not take the bills, I turn the switch up on the front of the main board that will not take the coins and the  light on the front of the machine came on that is green ( bill validator on the out side of the machine ) the MEI shows all 3 lights and when I push the test button once to put it in the test mode , it did take the bills and gave it right back to me (I think that means that the MEI works ) but the machine did not take the bill,i tried to use the new clear chip from Rudys deal to see if that will work and the code ( 83F1 ) came back up again , I tried to use the old clear chip and now that does not work ( I do holed the test and presido button at same time ) and I mean nothing shows , what do I need to do guys , help please thanks

Are the DS switches set correctly on the MPU board. Below are pictures of DS settings I had on the Monte Carlo without TITO I had here.  This slot had a WBA in it so for an MEI it should be switch  DS2 5=OFF 6=OFF.  Also the MEI head LEDs should have a flashing green only when booting up.  All three lights on steady means the head needs reprogrammed for the slot it is in.  Was the head the original one that came with the slot??

Contact member tjlee to reprogram your heads.
(I have several MEI 6607 Alpha validator heads which have been recently reprogrammed and setup for the new $100 bill.  Unlike eBay units these heads have been tested and are working fine in the Bally Alpha. Asking $40 each plus shipping.  I might do some trading for these too for Alpha 6607 validator frames with cash boxes.  I have too many validator heads here with no frames or cash boxes for them. PM me if interested.  Ted)

You can't reprogram an MEI head without a PPM (portable programing module) or the MEI software program to do it.  I own a PPM and have only done a few heads with it. Also, I can only do 6607 RS-232 MEI heads here with my PPM.  I can't guarantee they will work in the Monte as I have only used them in Alphas. They may be the same but I am not sure.  My Monte 6000 had a WBA in it.  Also your head may be setup for Easitrak and if it is only the MEI software will change that.  I can't help you with that one.   Thanks Ted
