Title: Sigma UV1700 won't start up

I have a Sigma UV1700 that won't  startup. When the CPU is trying to boot it will stop on one of the codes before completing boot sequence. Normally it is C3 that it stops on. If someone can help troubleshoot I would appreciate it.


I think the CPU needs repair.  If anyone knows who works on them or knows where I can get a replacement I would appreciate it.

No, I didn't. I just tried looking at it again yesterday and when I turn it on the cpu never completely boots. It will stop at different points in the process. I also didn't find anyone who could help me.

I reseated all of the connectors and all of the ICs in sockets on the CPU board. I also cleaned something off of the CPU board. It kind of looked like corrosion, but it was brown in color. It came off easily with rubbing alcohol.


The machine has now been running for a few hours. I did get one error. It just said error 83. I had to restart the machine and it seems to be running well now. If anyone knows what error 83 is I would like to know in case it shows up again.

Never seen error 83 before, but have seen errors but reboots do seem to help. Which game do you have?

I was able to get my machine running but am still interested in getting a backup board. How much are you asking for it?
