Title: Is it possible to add a button that adds credits???
Post by: phillip587 on December 18, 2022, 06:49:19 PM
Is it possible to configure a button that adds credit? I have a pot of gold machine at home in my basement and I'm tired of putting money in the bill acceptor lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you!

As long as the bill acceptor is wired for credit pulses (the validator does one pulse per credit to the MPU) yes. You can wire a button to the credit_IN.

How would one verify this? If I upload a photo of the wiring of the bill acceptor and button, could you walk me through wiring this up correctly?

My Cherry Master had an unused pin on the harness for a coin switch so I just ignored the bill acceptor completely.
We need to know the board/harness type and the bill acceptor you have, then I'm sure it's as easy as a button to either 5v or ground through a 1K resistor.

Simply use pin #18 wire from the non-component side of the circuit board to a momentary button switch on one side.
On the other side of the momentary button switch, wire that to any black ground wire in the machine.
Each press of the momentary button switch bets one credit.

Don’t you mean solder side #16?

No...my momentary switch goes to pin "R"....that equals Pin-18 on top (Component side).
The other tab of the switch goes to plain black ground.

You have a completely different pot o gold board, A real pot of gold board is from leisure times Inc./T340 board, and it only has 28 pins whereas you have 36 like a old cherry master board has. I can see your case around your board in of newer type. See the picture I provided, and on these, paying 18 salt or sod would be the supervisor switch.
