Title: No monitor light up on Fortune 1
Post by: TOBLAVE on February 26, 2023, 03:52:05 PM
I picked up a Fortune 1 with a monitor that wont light up, and I had the unfortunate luck of buying it the day after my buddy took a roadtrip to Las Vegas and hauled his ailing IGT machine to K-LAR. It would have been nice if he could have dragged my new machine along. Oh, well.

I went ahead with a stab in the dark and replaced all the caps on the 1401A RGB monitor board, but no dice. I probed around with my DVM and none of the points on the board labeled with voltages read anywhere near the 5V or 12V that were indicated.

What next? Is there a likely component that I should replace next?

There is a 1/2 watt resistor near the large filter cap that is rated at 1.2 Ohms.
It opens up if there is a current surge.
