Title: Info on S2000 LED Bulbs Wanted
Post by: Dirtguy on August 09, 2019, 08:52:01 AM
Does anyone have a part # for, or know where to get LED bulbs to replace the 3 fluorescents in a S 2000. I'm looking to buy about 25, and where the best place to get them is? To install them, is any modification necessary?

No mods necessary, just bypass ballasts.

a less expensive way to use LEDS is:  basically the same items in the plastic tubes, you can get a roll of 5050 smd leds on Amazon for 12.00, plus some connectors, 7.00   can do two possibly three machines.

these pictured were smaller than the 5050 led.   simple to do, they hook into any 13vdc power source in the machine.

this machine pictured came from a casino,

Any chance you could briefly explain to a newbie on how to bypass the ballast? I am no expert on wiring but I think with a step by step I could figure this out. Any help would be beyond appreciated. I am now in possession of this exact light for my IGTs2000 and need to replace all 3. (Top, Reel, Belly).

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,  first thing you have to verify, what DC voltage are the LED strips supposed to run on?  12vdc or ?

once you know that then we can find a source in the machine and you just have to tap into it.

unplug the ballast, that's all that is required there.,  find dc source in the machine, hook it up and you should be good.

make sure wiring is secure and covered.

do one at a time and see what you think before doing all three. un plug your board while experimenting.

guy on NLG has some for sale, 35.00 a set  plug and play.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the prompt reply. The bulbs that I got from Patriot Gaming have the input of 24DC stamped on it. So is it necessary to actually remove the ballast after unplugging it, or can it remain in there?

It can remain there,  that three pin plug is the one you remove, it has 25 vdc , that is where the LEDS  get their power.

you have to observe polarity, the green wire is machine ground. so you will only be using two wires.

I find the LED replacements to be VERY bright, almost to bright.  I turn the light away from the glass to try to reduce it.  I also didn't install LED at reels thinking it would be blinding.  Any way to fix this?

I used the LED sold on Suzohapp that has a connector to just plug in where the ballast is plugged in.
