Title: Help with old IGT PE
Post by: Dirtguy on May 01, 2021, 08:47:23 AM
Hi
I have an older Game King -94-, that when you turn it on, the bill acc cycles, florescent lights come on, fan works, but nothing on the screen or lights on the button panel. Never worked on anything this old, looks to me like s + era. Checked fuses, good, new battery on board, checked voltages to screen @ the plug, different pins, different voltages. Never seen a board like this before so don't know if all chips are there. My guess is #1- Bad CRT, #2- bad board. This was dropped off to me to see what I could do with it but if the screen is bad I don't see any hope for it. Any ideas or suggestions?
                                              Thanks Dan

That's a Player's Edge Plus machine with a Game King upper glass.  The MPU is a "Superboard" that allows a multi-poker software set with five games and looks to be complete.  After changing the battery you'll have a CMOS data error message that needs to be cleared.  I suspect the monitor is probably bad and you can't see the error message.  I'll move this to the PE forum.

I agree with Tilt. This is a PE+ with the wrong upper glass.
