Title: IGT S+ Plus Bill Validator Cycles, Won't Suck In Bills
Post by: Dirty Slots on September 15, 2022, 07:01:23 PM
This machine plays great, but it only takes quarters. It has this BV that cycles a few times upon startup, but does not want to take bills. ...it does not even try to suck them in.

I have fixed a few things on my S2000s, but I have no idea about how the S+ works.

What should I do first? or what info would you guys like to help me fix it. I'm sure it's something simple.

Also, the cash box is locked shut...so if I need to get that open (with a pik), before we proceed, let me know

Thank you!

I'm sorry, is this posted in the right section? Does this belong in the BV section? Thanks -Nate

Hi Nate,

Here is fine for now. That's an older validator which won't accept many newer bills, but that's an aside.

I'd start by getting the stacker door ("cash can" door) unlocked. The validator won't attempt to accept bills unless there's a stacker box (cash can) properly installed in there, and we don't know if there is since you can't see in there.

OK. Awesome. I will report back once I get it open. I didn't want to spend the $80 on a barrel lock pik kit, but now that I need to open this and my Bally Low Boy, I'm thinking I will end up using a nice barrel lock kit alot since I collect slot machines.

You can try picking it for free with a pen cap. See this video:

Also Amazon has tubular lock pick kits available for a lot less than $80.

Good luck.

Right on. I'm 99% confident I could pik it with the most basic tool set, like a piece of metal to turn the lock and a pokey thing to push at the pins...but I'm going to order the $80 kit as soon as I can do a little shopping. I'll checkout the video. A pen cap could work!

Here is the first video I watched. This guy shows a clear lock, so you can see what your actually trying to do...looks fun actually. I want to try it.
