Title: Vision Pro KT-2938 Vertical Line Only
Post by: crayw on April 30, 2023, 06:17:24 PM
I just picked up a arcade game, EA Sports PGA Golf Tour, and the system boots but the monitor only shows a vertical line about a 1/4" wide. I connected up another vga  monitor and all looks good on it.

There is a board mounted on the left side of the cabinet to access monitor settings but the vertical line is to small. The board has 4 buttons: exit/ degauss, menu, up and down. There are also three adjustments on the flyback.

Can someone tell me how to adjust the 1/4" line of video to full screen width?

I am not familiar with your game. What is the orientation of the monitor?
If the long dimension is left and right (horizontally) and you have a vertical line, then you have horizontal collapse.
If the long dimension is up and down (vertically) and you have a vertical line, then you have vertical collapse.
Either way, using the remote board adjustments is unlikely to help.

While many things can cause horizontal or vertical collapse. However, below are those that I regularly see.

A common problem for horizontal collapse in these chassis is failure of capacitors C327 (0.0039µF, 1.6kV) and C328 (0.0047µF, 1.6kV).

A common problem for vertical collapse in these chassis is failure of the filters in the +14V and -14V supplies, leading to failure of the vertical output IC and resistors and capacitors in the vertical output circuit.

The monitor is mounted horizontally (like this)  :agreepost: . Do you know where I can get a schematic for the chassis? My online research turned up nothing. I appreciate your response.
