Title: Player Tracking panel...getting the lights to blink?
Post by: Yoeddy1 on July 15, 2015, 07:08:25 PM
Hey guys,

I finally got all of my games up and running with player tracking, Mastercom 250's, and custom EPROMs for the MC250s with scrolling messages in the VFD.

The player card devices that I have, are the ones with the LEDs around them.  Lights are on solid.  If you insert a card, they turn red and blink with a message that says "reinsert card"...expected.  I thought I read somewhere that there is a trick to get the LEDs to blink while idle.  Is that part of the programming of the EPROM or is there another trick to accomplishing this?

Thanks,
Jason

My experience is that is part of the programming of the eprom. I have been able to change the "reinsert card" to a different word like " Hi Jason" when you put a card in but it still turns red.

Remove that chip and it will blink.

If he removes the chip no scrolling message unless he wants to buy two mastercoms and plug one into the display and one into the card reader.

That the way others have done it.

The blinking LEDs aren't that big of a deal, but man, I'd love to change "Reinsert" to "Hello" or some other message when a card is inserted.  I've seen a few guys that have changed the red blinking lights to solid green lights when the card is inserted, so it is possible.  Any ideas who?
